What's Happening in Transit Policy
AC Transit03/28 Board of Directors
Interesting survey on how people felt about double deckers. I wonder if San Francisco should pursue them for some of the heavy routes. For something like the 5 they could try to make it and encourage people going toward the ends of the route to go up stairs and others to stay downstairs. Muni should try it I assume they can't because of the electrical wiring.

Interesting view on legislative concerns. Particularly of interest is that Board of Equalization voted down an excise tax on gas so apparently there is a hole in transportation budget. And there are new CEQA guidelines although I want to see the thing reformed. Caltrans gets a crapton for the highways! Apparently the state is planning to make a law to limit their liability for issues with the roads.

Its not particularly relevant to SF but is interesting to see the trends for transbay service, how far they fell and then built up. And also how slow they've gotten due to so many different variables.
Interesting what people most are frustrated with.
Wow they're really going to do a lot out there in candlestick/Hunters point. I can't wait to see it one day. They really should try to get rail out there before its too late.
And then a phase II. I probably won't live long enough to see that.
Upcoming muni service changes and muni trying to meet its equity goals.
If you want to know how the geary project is doing. Its not particularly going at a rate we'll live to see it.
Seems like SFMTA is going to finally try to measure performance metrics and compare those year to year. BART does this and it really is cool to see the trends quarter to quarter even if sometimes politically it looks bad.
MTC analysis of housing related bills. including wiener's famous bills.
The legislature is trying to make it legal to use 3 position bike racks on 60ft buses. didn't know it was illegal.
SB-827 more official MTC map of places it would affect. Its in a lot of places I wouldn't expect even a weird line in the middle of San Jose thats not the 22 or the VTA light rail
